Competitor: FitBit

The FitBit is a tiny device that clips onto your clothes during the day, or can be worn on a wrist strap while you sleep. It tracks all your movement, all day long. At night it will determine the quality and length of your sleep. It is described as "a pedometer on steroids".

Here are some images of the device itself for you to see how small and compact it is...

The FitBit tracker shows your real-time activity statistics so you know how close you are to your goals. The Ultra contains an accelerometer like the one in the Wii, tracking your activity more accurately than old-fashioned pedometers, plus an altimeter for tracking stairs climbed. Its a wireless device that comes with a compact charger. FitBit Ultra's super sensitive 3-D motion sensor tracks your day down to details a pedometer can't catch, showing your exact steps taken, calories burned and distance travelled. The new altimeter tracks floors climbed so you can monitor this heart-healthy activity, encouraging you to take the stairs at home or work, or climb a little further on your next hike.

As sleep is hugely important to your well-being and weight loss the FitBit also tracks your sleep. By slipping the device into the FitBit sleep wristband before bed, it will keep a watchful eye on your body as you sleep. When your info uploads to Fitbit.com, you'll not only see how long you sleep, but how well you sleep. The tracker monitors how many times and how long you wake up during the night. Over time, you can apply what you learn to better understanding what helps you sleep better.

You can check your real-time statistics at any time with a quick glance at your FitBit Ultra. It allows you to switch between steps, distance, calories burned, and floors climbed with a single button. With every peek, it gives you a little burst of motivation to fit in a few extra steps.

FitBit also  allows you to log in your workouts and meals from your smart phone or computer. The database holds over 100,000 food items, and enter workout specifics from yoga to kick-boxing and even Wii games. You can also track your weight and other health indicators like blood pressure, glucose, and heart rate.
